THE TOP KEESHOND EVENT is to provide single competition for the top-rankingKeeshonden during the past year judged by three unannounced JUDGES. It is anopportunity to showcase and appreciate some of the best dogs the Keeshondfancy has to offer. It is intended to be both educational and enjoyable, serving toadvance knowledge and appreciation of the breed.To be invited to participate in the Top Keeshond Event, a dog must be ranked inthe top 25 Keeshonden for the previous calendar year. In addition, if the top 5ranking bitches do not appear on the above stated list, they will also be deemedeligible to compete. Tabulations for eligibility will be based on Keeshondendefeated as a result of Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex wins as noted onthe KCA Website Rankings from January 1 through December 31 of the yearproceeding the competition.At this year’s Top Keeshond Event we will be awarding a winning Best of Breedaward and a winning Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed award.FORMAT FOR THE 2026 TOP KEESHOND EVENT: Each entrant will be givenspecific ring time. Entrants will be judged both as a group and then also in groupsof three, allowing opportunity for each of the three judges to individually performa hands-on exam, followed by each entrant being judged on movement by allthree judges simultaneously. The evening showcase grand finale will feature theintroduction of each of the TKE entrants as they circle the ring to their chosenmusical selection, followed by the announcement of the Top Keeshond EventsWinners.TKE CATALOG AND ENTRY FEE: A catalog will be prepared exclusively for thisevent. Catalogs may be pre-ordered at a cost of $20. Catalogs may be pre-orderedusing the form located in the premium list or on the orders page of the NationalShow Website. Pre-ordering prior to the event is highly recommended as only alimited number of catalogs will be available at the event. The entry fee of $70.00includes a Lovely Participation Ribbon, plus a Catalog Advertisement including acolor photo of the dog, a three - generation pedigree, information about the dogand the dog’s breeders and owners. If you choose to not have your dogparticipate in the TKE event you can still be a part of this special event byadvertising in the TKE Catalog for $50.00.Catalogs will include a listing of all of this year’s eligible dogs in conformation.There will be additional listings of the top Owner/Handler, Obedience, Agility,Rally and FastCat Dogs. Ruthann Seibert at ruthann@kcanational.infoRINGSIDE TABLE: This year there will be an opportunity to reserve a ringsidetable for the Top Keeshond Event evening that will seat either four or six persons.The fee will include an assortment of hot and cold Hors d’oeuvres in addition tothe snacks being offered for all that evening. These tables will be availablebeginning at 5:30 or 6:30 pm, when the cash bar opens. The cost per table will be$80.00 for a table of 4, or $120.00 for a table of 6. Additional seats at the table inexcess of 4 or 6 will cost $20.00. This will take the place of the regular weeklyreserved seating for this event only. The table reservation can be made with theorders page on the show website. There will be additional seating behind thereserved tables at no cost for spectators. THERE WILL BE A CASH BAR OPENINGAT 6:30 PM and small snacks for all will be served.ADDITIONAL EXHIBITOR RIBBONS: may be ordered at $30.00 each when madewith the orders tab on the show website. The theme will be the “Acadogmy Awards,” so bring your trueHollywood glamour with you! Sequins, Beads, Pearls with evening or cocktaildresses for the ladies and tuxes or suits for the men are suggested.
